- No need (at least for my system) to tape anything on the drive. Easily shucced and used within seconds after plugging it in,

Nice amounts of storage I can put all of my files on one drive instead of having them scattered

Love the drive. It is quick and user friendly. Holds a lot of data and works great for me. New Egg did a super job on taking my order and shipping...Shipping was speedy.

Great price for the capacity

I'm using this 8TB drive to store my DVD and Blu Ray media for my Plex server. At the time I write this (Jan, 2020) this drive is cheaper than a stand-alone 8TB drive, and it comes with the enclosure and power supply and free shipping. So far it's been reliable and well working. I'm going to order a second one soon as I under estimated the size of movies in my Plex library.

Easy to use. Just plug and play.

10TB for $160! Quiet, runs cool, and be completely shut down.

Very reliable, fast backup time — which is what my reason for buying this drive

- Fast transfer speeds for and HDD (~215 MB/s) - Ample space for ample libraries (Can store as much as 2,564 DVD DL or 872 single layer BD-R) - Easy Setup (Literally plug and play)

8TB of space for 169$ I know the drive in it is probably a WD Green/Blue I had to pop open a WD 8TB once because it wouldn't find the drive via usb, so i took it out and put it in and it was a WD Green, (I once popped open those Samsung Station D3's and it had Seagate Desktop Drive in it.) All in all, it great for offloading movies, it's small enough that you can take it with you if you travel like I do. Plug it into the USB slot on a TV and play away. Formats out to 8550GB

-decent transfer speeds

Very large amount of space for games or files if you prefer to keep your games on an SSD You will have trouble filling this drive.

- Sleek looking external hard drive. - Power brick isn't too large, points downwards. Standard 12V - 1.5A. - Despite what people say this hard drive enclosure CAN be shucked. Meaning you can remove the bare internal hard drive from the enclosure and put the hard drive into your PC for use (no encryption). Unless you are a ninja, this will VOID your warranty.** - There IS software & hardware encryption IF you purposefully want it. - This is Western Digital quality, so the drive should be reliable.

Despite WD saying that this hard drive requires Windows or Mac, this external HDD works just fine on Linux (tested on Debian 9).

-Smaller and more compact than expected -Minimalist design -Huge Amount of storage space -Easy setup with backup recovery software

I needed extra help with installing this backup on my mac laptop. WD tech support was extremely helpful and the follow up was not expected but most appreciated. I have bought WD backups before and was always pleased. I was installing on an older OS and WD walked me through it. It is running great. We buy at NewEgg because they are reputable too.
