I bought these to max out my old 16tb NAS. I still use the 3tb's I replaced as stand-alone backups. If these 4tb's last as long in my NAS (9 years) I will be very pleased.

- I hammered this drive with a constant 60 - 180MB RW throughput test for a solid 24 hrs. Not a hiccup and nothing bad to report in SMART table after drive scan before or after this burnin test. - Drive temperature topped at 97 degrees F.

- Formatted cleanly and no errors on extended drive test. - Added to existing array cleanly. - Have been consistently getting 6+ years out of IronWolf drives in 24x7 RAID environment for media server.

Solid Drive

Installed in new build, Transferred 4TB from two older 2TB drives. the drive was warm after several hours during the xfer. Works as you expect a 5400rpm. Great deal for the price and now I have plenty of space.

Works great, had a dead drive, but the three others I got were great. Trouble free replacement on the bad drive. Glad I bought from a reputable source.

Everything came as desribed

Works great (so far). 200MB/s throughout with my other red nas pro drive.

All the same reasons I continue buying Western Digital drives from NewEgg: easy to order, fast delivery, great packaging and fast installation & formatting.

Price & delivery were great - works for the home Syn NAS. Both are quiet and responsive.

240+MiB/s sequential write speed while connected to a USB3 dock. Came very well packaged.

- Fast for Magnetic Drive - Quiet

One of largest drives on the market. Meant for 24/7 operation. Quiet. Works well in my NAS. No errors found on drive.

Very Fast. At 8 TB it is just the right size for me to not grow out of for a while.

Received drive where it was in a frame in center of box which was in a semi secure Newegg box. Plugged in drive into old mediasonic probox that was rated for 8tb drives. Worked fine. Ubuntu says you have to format that 16tb size as GPT and that worked fine. Over 14tb usable space. Temp of drive is similar to my 4 and 8tb WD red drives and is much cooler than the 10tb WD Plus drive. Speed was high at around 200MB transfer rates. Noise was slightly higher than the 4tb WD drives, but still low. Drive is new, not used, not recertified. Manufacture date is March 2023 which is when the warranty starts, so not very long ago.
