this thing works perfect. Yea it may not be machined out of a solid piece of billet aluminum, but for $16 what do you expect... works great for my fan controller.

Frees space in my already compact build in a mid tower

We just ordered 3 of these as we also changed our Computer cases out so we need a way to move our IcyDocks to the new boxes that is the reason and these worked great.

Very good construction. This item is made of steel and is heavy, not made of cheap plastic. The screw holes line up perfectly for the Samsung 850 Pro drives I have. Works in tower model (aluminum case) Mac Pros with 4 drive bays. Also works in HP z800 series workstations, at least my z800 (2010. 2011?). The drive plugs into the adapter built onto the unit which provides the interface that plugs into the computer. I did not use this in an application that uses cables: only in systems where you slide the adapter into a drive bay using a tray and lock it into place. Highly recommended for this type of application.

Easy to use. I'm using this to mount a 2.5 SSD into a 3.5 slot in my PC. The 2.5' drive slides in and clicks into place and then mounting it into my drive bay was easily done with the included 4 screws. This is an easy, straight-forward, good mount. It actually mounts (2) 2.5' drives but only takes up the same space as a 3.5' hard-drive.

Just had to install upside down with new SSD to fit inside Dell all-in-one computer. Extra cable parts were a bonus I can use elsewhere!

I used this to read contents from over 300 DVDs and it worked at a nice speed with no slow down on a SATA DVD Drive. Later, I connected it to a LG Black 16X Blu-Ray BDXL SATA Internal Rewriter, Model BH16NS40 and it worked! I was able to play Blu-ray movies without problems, admittedly I didn't try burning any discs.
