I have two of these - one two years old, and one for a new build two months ago. I had a plastic bay converter in that case from long ago. Plastic is a pain. Spend the extra $5 and get metal. This baby is well worth the few extra nickles. Tolerances are perfect. Slipped the drives in easily and then it slid right into my Lian-Li case. Love it.

It just has a sexy latch and a sexy LED. - It's sturdy and well-designed. The first couple days you might have trouble getting in the drive, but once you do there's no problem. There are little wheels on the bottom to smooth the sliding in process. - You get alot. 5 drives in 3 slots. That's 66% extra space you just gained.

The device did exactly what I needed it to do. I removed the front 3.5" HDD bracket in my Phanteks Evolv ATX TG case to allow me to use a front-mounted 360mm radiator. But, I still needed one slot for a 3.5" HDD. After seeing there was a mounting mechanism for this HDD caddy in the basement, I ordered it and it allowed great fitment for the one 3.5" drive I needed. Less than five minutes to install.

I use these cases to store 3.5-in. hard drives for video editing, I often have half a dozen drives that I'm swapping in and out of the drive bays on my computer, I needed a safe way to store the drives with easy access while editing. I actually purchased two other kinds of cases first just for testing, and these are the best for me, the case opens like a book so you can gently and freely lift out the hard drive without touching the electronics, and so there is no way for the drive to become stuck inside the case.

It works with my case's tooless brackets and isn't flimsy like other 2.5" adapter trays made from plastic or too thin like other metal brackets I used that don't like the track rails of some toolless deigns in some PC cases. Fits two 2.5" drives as advertised

fits 2 ssd's tooless hot swap trays fits my slim line odd bluray burner with out issues as I found out the hard way will not fit in all slim line bays... so now I can use it thank you icy dock you rock!
