So far so good. The item works great. it has an APPLEESQUES look and has the plugs all on one side.
This was purchased for my father-in-law's APC that hadn't been plugged in for a long time and the batteries went bad. I have the same APC that the batteries went bad, I ordered new ones from Newegg more than 6 yrs ago and they are still going strong past the expected time (knock on wood). It is worth the purchase of these batteries, APC's smart tech conditions the batteries to help them last a long time.
The multiple display choice allows you to monitor the unit in which ever 'format' you would like or feel comfortable with. I charged the unit up and then plugged in some old Christmas lights and pulled the power plug. The unit did run warmer then normal operation temp, but it did not smoke or hum like some of the reviews stated. I am very pleased with this backup.
Handles over 500 watts Reliable Lots of outlets Lasts for years Easy to replace the batteries. (See other thoughts)
I haven't even had this more than 2 weeks and it's already helped me out a ton. Had a power outage just the other day and this UPS worked like a champ. It's powering a rig with two 980 Ti Superclocked cards and three 27 inch monitors.
We have purchased over 500 of these and never had a failure yet.
-Easy to read LCD -Plug and play -Lots of outlets
- Simple, no frills surge protector - Outlet covers
Good battery backup at a good price
Delivered right on time. Easy to remove old battery, this one slides right in. Comes with a slip to indicate that all pre-shipping tests were passed. Looking forward to a few years of trouble-free UPS-ing. Easy, free path to ship the old battery for recycling.
It's the second to the best surge protection from Tripp Lite, and priced considerably lower than the top model. I'm confident about the brand as I've seen their products in action.
My previous battery lasted 5 years. Securely packaged with thick foam. Hot swappable.
I'm in IT and have purchased 50-60 of these units in the last 3 years with no problems. No DOA's and non have failed yet. I find that 550VA is great for single workstations like Core2Duo with duel 19" LCD's.
