The switch has a very heavy and quality feel to it. POE+ works great with my cameras, and wireless access points.

The switch has a metal case with desktop or wall-mountable design (includes rubber adhesive pads/feet for desktop use), and appears to be well manufactured and packaged other than a greatly skewed manufacturing/product label on the bottom of the unit. A sticker on the box clearly identifies 24/7 technical support via a provided 866 toll-free number and email address, as well as a 2-year warranty period. I temporarily patched this switch into my Gigabit home network and ran four home surveillance cameras for 24 hours and then I temporarily replaced the existing Gigabit switch on an AV cabinet for several hours of use. Overall, I did not experience any drops in performance on either application and across multiple devices, and as compared to much more expensive networking components. Time will tell, but during initial use, I could not find any technical flaws with this product when used as intended. The case remained remarkably cool under heavy load; I think that this is a big plus for users that will place this switch in a confined space. I also think that this would be a nice little switch to slap on the back of a home AV cabinet. Overall, the switch has a number of good features that can be identified in the specification. In my case, I appreciated that the switch auto configures any port to function as the uplink port, that a crossover cable was not necessary, and that the switch was backwards compatible with older devices (e.g., a 10Mbps card in a very old laptop and old gaming system),

Quality build - in a full metal case the build quality is excellent. Size - at just over 11 inches long and a height of just under 1 inch it can be mounted underneath or on the back of your computer desk. No wasted space - the case is only slightly larger than the area for ports. Easy to mount - a couple of screws to mount it

works well, solid throughput, priced right..

Bought this for $40 - $10 rebate, making it the cheapest Gigabit switch I could find from a brand I trusted. I've been using Netgear switches for a while, and have always been happy. They have a very business-oriented, no-frills design. They're square, so they stack, mount, etc. very well (versus some of the curved ones geared towards home users). I bought this to replace my old 10/100 Netgear switch because I needed Gigabit speeds for my new NAS, and have been extremely happy. Don't hesitate to buy one!
