I have used APC products in the past and find this one much better. Seems well made, functioned out of the box.
Already had a couple of power outages from thunder storms recently and this kept my server running without a hitch! I also like being able to see how much of a load is hooked up to it and how much time it's expected to have with the current load.
Let me start off by saying, I have been using APC products by Schneider for more than 13 years, and have had many different models from Smart-UPS to Back-UPS, and all of them have performed excellent by keeping all of my very expensive equipment safe. To be completely honest with you, you would have to be insane to plug your expensive devises directly into the wall and not into an APC-UPS, but I would never use a low quality surge protector ,I would not dare plugging a $1,300 device in a $ 12 surge protector. I am currently using 3 APC-Back-UPS XS1500 protecting my very expensive water-cooled custom built computers at a value around $1,200 to $1,600. I would not trust another brand to protect my property. I am currently using the APC BE425M Back-UPS 425 VA 255 Watts to protect my entertainment system. 255 Watts is more than enough for a 50 inch TV, Small Form Factor PCs, and my eight channels surveillance DVR kit, and a 1000W 5.1 surround system. APC is the absolute best brand of UPS you can buy. Please do not wait till you have a lighting surge or some sort of power surge and destroy your property before you buy an APC-UPS.
-Seems to last. -I can run my computer (with my Yeti and monitor) off of it for about 30 minutes, in the event of a blackout. More than I imagined, I just wanted something to last 5 minutes so that I can safely shut my computer down. -Easy to understand what everything means after reading the manual, such as if its green, blinking yellow, and other stuff.
Simple battery connection and change out, no need to use screws and dis assemble the unit like other brands. I have had these ware out over many many years but they still last the longest and easy to swap out old batteries is a must for me.
Straightforward set-upQuality constructionEasy to use
Didn't have to mess with it to get it up and running. Previous UPSes had to have the battery connected. Not so here. The one brief power blip I have had allowed my computer to keep running.
This is a great little battery backup that supports PFC.
Kinda small and not too heavy plenty of outlets for my use case good battery life for the price
Ok, to get this out of the way--ONE button does everything. Not the most convenient thing for consumers to do but simplifies things for the maker of the product except when people call them and go "blah blah, how do I do this or dat?" The instructions come with it on how to set settings though. Voltage trip range could be set to sensitive, normal, or high. I left it on normal, which is preset, and it tripped once within a week--I heard a click from the unit, which means it activated. Also, audio alarm could be disabled (or couple other options as to when it would activate), all of which also is set by one button.. meh. You have to hold button for so long, blah, do so long of a press blah, blah blah... meh. Green power LED is very nice looking but too bright for bedrooms, so I had to put a sticky note paper over it and paint that area with a black permanent marker (in reverse order) to keep that light from shining brightly in the room. Overall: it is a very nice polished looking product for a reasonable price.
- Great deal price - Plenty of plugins both battery backup and just surge - Very easy to activate battery - Like the LCD status info on front.
not having to worry about my $6,000 Switch... easy to use web based interface
Been waiting for a storm to submit a review. This unit maintained my internet connection during a Tornado Warning and subsequent power outage. I love it!
Power cut the other day and this guy kept my NAS online for about 5 min until it auto shut down then ran the attached modem and router for 2+hours affording connectivity for mobile devices. My toddler still got his shows and I got piece of mind. Dats why I bought it and dats what it did. Right on.
