- Drives are fairly quiet compared to Seagate drives - Passed SMART tests on arrival

-Transfer rates are good - average a little over 200MB/s, drive to drive on the same LSI HBA on Unraid if it matters. -Temperature is good - average 30C in a 20C room during continuous transfer of files, about the same as a 6TB (WD6003FFBX), and about 5C lower than a 10TB (WD102KFBX). Idle temp is ~26C. This drive and comparables are in the same server/array. - Noise is relatively low, about the same as a 6TB and noticeably more quiet than the 10TB. - Cost per TB is good when on sale, very close to the largest 18-22TB rate.

I rely on these drives for my work PCs, and have trusted WD black going back to the Velociraptor days 20 years back. Only issue I had on latest purchase, was defective drive that had been cut open and repackaged to look like a new return but was defective with "cyclic redundancy error." Luckily Newegg shipped me a fast replacement and that worked first try, as per usual. Whew!

Quiet, reliable and cost effective

Working great after about a week. Sure seems like it's faster than my old one.

For Synology NAS users, the Synology brand drives means easier adoption, less headaches and fewer notifications. The extra small pennies/gb price per GB over other enterprise drives with worth it. No need to worry about compatibility with many features of DSM 7.1

I would recommend Western Digital HDDs (or even their SSDs, I've got those, too) to anyone needing to expand or enlarge their existing system. Easy to install and configure to your Windows OS.

Huge capacity, very fast

This was a replacement for a DOA after purchasing several drives. Not Newegg fault. Seagate should QC better. Newegg got my replacement out same day I sent back, total return time was 2 business days. FAST AS HELL. Excellent service. And the drive works perfectly now with the others. And the price was excellent for the storage. Transfer speed is better than 200MB/S. 14.5 GB formatted space. Great value.

This is a great hard drive. Its fast and quiet, and I have a lot of confidence in Western Digital drives. Ive been using them fo many years, and have never had an issue with a single one of them.

Easy to install. Very fast with 512 cache. Works great. No noise when I use. Very nice.

I do a lot of writing and editing, so need the most reliable HDDs available. I use pairs of these in RAID-1 configurations in the event one fails. So far, none ever have.

I ordered three of these drives so far and they have worked exceptionally well on my Synology NAS (ds1823xs+). While they are being accessed, they are certainly audible, but not noisy enough to cause a problem. I have already written around 15 TBs to each drive without any issues. Two of the drives are in a raid 1 configuration for redundancy. If I ever need more capacity, I wouldn't hesitate to order two more of these.
