This is a great hard drive. Its fast and quiet, and I have a lot of confidence in Western Digital drives. Ive been using them fo many years, and have never had an issue with a single one of them.

Love the capacity - cannot wait for the future 30TB hard drives but for now this is the biggest consumer drive possible.

Spend the money you need for the space you want. - Fastest 7200Rpm HDD I have used. - Low idle power draw. - Writing to a 860 QVO 1TB SDD it uses 100% Black and 30-60% of the SSD. - It replaced a drive from 2013! (WD blue 7200) With no issue. Plugged-in, Disc Management saw it right away, format/Copy files and it's great. All the programs work because I switched the drive letters back to :D :D

This is the second drive I purchased this week from Newegg. As I was installing the drive in my NAS got a message that another drive had bad sectors. Best price I could find in these times so ordered another. Installed and working great.

Great storage size for the price. Using it now for periodic offline backups. Sustained backup speeds still at 200 MB/s after a month of use. I did place this drive in a USB 10 Gbps external enclosure which shouldn't be a bottleneck for the transfer speeds (but you may see better performance directly on a SATA interface)

The WD1003FZEX (7200 RPM, 64M Cache) is a great boot up drive. It is fast, reliant and its part of the black series from Western Digital. It has been a long time since I have seen a hard drive get a 5 year warranty and it is nice to see it once again. I benchmark this drive against a Seagate ST4000DM000 (5900 RPM, 64M Cache). It is pretty amazing the few more RPMs have when it comes to performance. For the testing I used CrystalDiskMark 3.0.3 x64 on a Windows 8.1 x64 system. Now when look at random work is when the separation really takes place where it is a more than 100% difference in performance. For every one action taken by the 5900 RPM drive two actions are done on the 7200 RPM drive. This is really amazing performance!
