Provided exact replacement for failed 500 GB in refurbished product, and 7200 RPM upgrade. Formatting and Transferring back-up image was a snap.

I don't know what I can say about a NAS drive, but Newegg prompted me to do a review, so...here we go. I found them to be very rectangular, and they fit into my NAS about as you'd expect. When I completed formatting them, I had more capacity than with the 8 TB drives that these replaced....so, um, that's a plus. They haven't tried to take over my system and create a sentient entity capable of taking over the world, which is nice as well.

Fairly quiet- not as loud as the "Hyperscale" version Unbeatable $/GB 220+MB/s sustained write speed

Great value for money, reliable, huge storage

Brand Quality Speed Reliability Versatility There are a lot of good reasons to like these drives. Being a system builder, I use a lot of different HDD's. However when it comes to my own personal machine, I almost always go Western Digital Black. They are quality drives, fast and reliable performers, and they work great no matter how you task them. As a single system drive, or in a multi-drive setup, RAID, they got it covered. They are great for gamers, load in fast, be the first to spawn. Gameplay recording, these drives are great for that as well. Servers. I use WD Black drives in my servers for their speed and reliability at a decent price point. The best thing I can say about these drives is that they work, and they work great, even in the most demanding of builds.

- Tons of space - Fast - Extra warranty, extra duty cycle.

24TB! 7200 rpm, great value.

Compatible

perfect for NAS. I don't really need the AI function in the drives they sit in a UNIFI protect set up. I have the 24TB one in my home protect set up and initially it was loud, but it has become more quite since it finished it originally set up. I have 8 of the 8TB drives with no issues. 2 are cold spares. when they go in I'll order 2 more. I take the drives that are out of warranty and typically put them in our 3rd tier backup NAS systems and they seem to live forever. Technically out of "service life" but that doesn't mean I take them offline, I stick them into a lower use environment to live out their days storing old accounting stuff. Nothing as exciting as VIDEO

High capacity

So far the drive seem to be functioning well, ask again in 6 monthd

Ran 4 of these in a storage array for a few years. They replaced a similar array built on smaller SATA drives. Needless to say, they're muuuuch faster than the SATA drives.

We use these drives in all our surveillance systems. High capacity, reliable, and inexpensive.

I bought one 16 TB two month ago , works perfect up to now, so I bought a second one on decembre 14 . same model IronWolf Pro 16 TB

This is such a quiet drive 5 cameras record 24/7 and it doesn't bat an eye

Added to Unraid array with no dropped sectors.

First off, I only buy from Newegg, don't trust the 3rd parties. I order two 16TB drives , two different times. When they were on sale. Second time they came damaged by not being packaged properly. I requested a refund and waited... Wait for it to come through, so I could order two fresh drives. By the time I received my refund, there was only one drive available, came packaged properly. So ,I've got 3 not 4 as I'd like. First pair are over a year old now, no issues, little start up time, not too loud. 3rd and newest drive is great! Will buy again.
