-Burns fast (Well all I burned was music and small files, so I can't say for large files.) -Formatted a CD-WR right out of the box, but I installed the software on the drivers disc after. -Comes with some quality-of-life software; would suggest if you have the time to install it. My main concern was for it to playback DVD-DL discs. It does and very well. Used to be you needed a very expensive DVD Blu- Ray player for that. Play back is great, picture great.

I ordered this 4 days back and it was delivered across the country. Thanks, Newegg! It truly is "plug-and-play". If you are using iOS, you will not need the included disc which contains the burner software, it will run through iTunes. Just connect the USB cable, hit the "eject" button on front of the device, insert a CD and iTunes will ask if you want to back up the contents onto your Mac. Then it runs without issue.
