I was pleasantly surprised to see it included a USB Type C to USB Type A adapter (no indication of this on the description or picture), which are $5-6 each by themselves. I was impressed that on 2 different computers it powered a mechanical 5400RPM laptop HDD solely via bus power, and the performance was nearly identical to plugging it directly into a SATA port (on the mechanical drive). On the 2 SSD drives I have used so far, they had faster I/O when plugged directly into a SATA port (as one would expect). I liked how the item fits into a spiral cutout of a foam rectangle... that doesn't really sound very appealing but I'm trying to say that I liked the packaging and will be keeping it and storing the adapter in it.

Well right out of the box it was hassle free. First its all brush polished aluminium very nice clean look to it and will fit right in on a modern looking desk USB 3.0 worked great as the SD card readers did. I do have a couple other Wavlink products and have always been happy with them, I can't say anything on there customer service because I never had the need to contact them.

Both connectors fit tightly into their respective sockets, and the cable is labeled "high speed USB 3.1 cable" so the product is manufactured with good-grade components. There are strain guards on both the SATA and USB type-C connectors. You can get these connectors at half the price but given the quality of this cable it should be very durable.
