The biggest difference I've noticed is range. Previously I was using the router supplied by Spectrum. We had issues with full house coverage. With this TP Link there are no dead spots.

The person saying "this is not compatible with my desktop" has no clue what they're saying. If you use wifi then 6E is the latest greatest fastest version available, has ethernet ports too. Most devices don't have 6E but if yours does, you get a bonus "speed lane" over wifi 6, which is plenty fast already. Cheap future-proofing for a home wifi setup. Powerful signal for thru-wall thru-floor wifi compared to other routers I've owned. I stopped using a repeater because it's no longer necessary to cover the whole house.

This was super simple to set up. The instructions were clear and it took less than 10 minutes. The speed is amazing. I keep testing it everyday because I can't believe it. Didn't feel much improvement on speed on old devices with wifi6 however the signal is super strong way better than the wifi from Spectrum. It's lightweight and elegant. Love the design. Also the iPhone App is a big plus

This is a fast and powerful router. I am running AT&T Fiber 2 Gig plan and get the full speed up and down connected to the 10 Gig port set up as WAN. I am also using the other 10 Gig port connected to a 2.5 GB 8 port Switch. I have to turn on IP passthrough on the AT&T modem to get my Xbox series X not to have Double NAT. Wifi6E is fast on the 6GZ band. At close range I get 1010 down and 1350+ megs up on my Galaxy S22 Ultra. The range is good on my 2 story house for the 5 and 2.5 bands as well. Downstairs I get 850 to 900 plus down and 1020 megs up on the 6GZ band. My Xbox series 10 was getting like 840 to 850 up and down speed consistently. I do not know the wifi range on really big houses.

This is the second RT-BE92 that I have installed in the past two weeks (April/May 2026). The first one is my main mesh network router, connected directly to the fiber network. The one I am reviewing is mesh networked about 75-100 feet away, by my livestock barn. The connection is GREAT! This WiFi-7 mesh network is supplemented by two other WiFi6 routers (RT-AX55). This router works very well! My connections are "near" instant! I can cover about 7 acres, without interruption and another several acres marginally, including remote areas with the mesh network that I have established.

I use the 2.4 g for some of my smart home, 5g on older tablets and computers, and the 6e speeds are insane. I live in a condo and there is a lot of traffic and the 5g powers through. I'm only one of two people in our complex with wi-fi 6 so no interference at all.

This router seems to have done a great job of increasing the strength of the WiFi signal in my house. It also seems to have made wireless Internet a lot faster. YouTube videos load almost instantly and there's less lag when browsing the Internet. Good product
