Operation with multiple applications in Linux (Fedora 32 64-bit) is flawless These applications include K3b, DVD Styler, Devede NG, SMPlayer, VLC, Dragon Player, Brasero, etc. The drive is amazingly compact, barely larger than an optical disc jewel case.

Makmkv said that the one I received was "LibreDrive enabled." It does have the actual "Ultra HD Blu-ray" logo on it. It hasn't had any problems with 4k or Blu-ray disks (I haven't tested DVDs). It gets 5.5x on average for Blu-rays.

When it arrived it so well packed that it took me 5 minutes to be able to open it. I was surprise of the quality and the nice look of that dvd writer. The usb type c is a nice feature but it also work on usb 3.0 for poeple that does not have a type c. The quality of the material is high end and nice to look at. I am working with Windows 11 and it was recognize in no time.

My main concern was for it to playback DVD-DL discs. It does and very well. Used to be you needed a very expensive DVD Blu- Ray player for that. Play back is great, picture great.
