So easy to use

installed without a hitch - 3 total in this computer - quick and quiet

Drive is large enough to store large photo files. Also to consolidate multiple smaller drives.

Ordered two on the 4th of Mar (Friday) and received both on the 7th (Monday 3/7/2022). Ran all of Sea Tools diagnostics on them and they passed all tests. (Note: the Long Generic test takes ~14 Hrs.). I purchased a D-Link DNS-320 NAS in 2011. It was slow and their 2.05 firmware only supported up to 3 TB hard drives. I found freeware firmware called Alt-F that can be loaded on the DNS-320 and supports the 8 TB hard drives. I loaded the Alt-F firmware and it formatted the ST8000VN004s using Ext 4 in a RAID 1 configuration resulting in a swap file and 7.2 TB of usable storage. I copied almost 4 TB of data to the old NAS, breathing new life into a previously pretty limited 2-bay NAS server.

Easy to use

Good price, sent it to a friend, thanks!

Easy to assemble and operate.

18TB, built in features to preserve the durability of this hard drive. I can't tell the difference when playing COD on this drive compared to when I had COD on a western digital black SSD. SeaChest tools to go in and change drive features

Fast interface for only 3.0, full speed. Both 2.5 and 3.5 drives worked fine as expected. Comes with everything to work right out of the box.

Works Silent Pretty fast

Very well packaged. was in sealed anti static, in bubble sleeve, in a box, in another shipping box. It was sold as a refurbished HDD. Had been started 3 times and had 19 hours of use. Very happy with the HDD and am anxious to place it into service.

First use was to create a windows 11 system image from an M2 C: to D: on this device. Now I have this to examine those old SSD SATA and M2 drives without opening the PC case. Works on spin SATA drives as well. Also used to clone a 512GB M2 to a 2TB M2.

great hard drive being 6tb is better than there 5tb and really not much bigger can hardly tell the difference as photos show 5tb on bottom

Works out-of-the-box with various Linux distros using 4.x kernel (currently Debian Stable) Works well with mdadm Simple settings Works well/reliably/as advertised

One can see what size and brand drive is in the case.

Pretty fast for an HDD

The product is as described.
