my last set of WD hard drive is 6 years old and have over 10 years worth of data transfer from other hard drives, even though the old one still works great i feel like it was a good time to replace my old ones with 2 of these . over all i hope these will last just as long as my last hard drives, these hard drives does not run when you not accessing the folders and whenever you click on the drive you can hear a click and the motor ramping up . theres about 3 second delay before able to access the drives

First use was to create a windows 11 system image from an M2 C: to D: on this device. Now I have this to examine those old SSD SATA and M2 drives without opening the PC case. Works on spin SATA drives as well. Also used to clone a 512GB M2 to a 2TB M2.

Good price, sent it to a friend, thanks!

It works. You plug it in to your USB port and away it goes. A pretty good backup program gets installed and you just tell it what you want. What more could you want. The competitive product I had decided it needed all new software which didn't work. You do have to wonder why companies insist on trashing functioning programs with stuff that just doesn't work.

This is such a quiet drive 5 cameras record 24/7 and it doesn't bat an eye

So easy to use

price point speed

Easy to assemble and operate.

Good speed.

Big enough and then some, to back up data off my laptops

Drive was recieved on time and installed easily. Works great.

- 8TB is a tremendous amount of space (in 2020). - Easy installation - Very fast drive (7200 RPM)

- A little faster than a 5400 RPM drive - Quiet, reliable and cool running - Lots of storage space (I use these drives for video storage and backups) - Economical (especially if you catch it on a deep sale) - about 0.015 cent cost per gigabyte - Shipping was fast - it arrived a day early! - I now have 3 of this model and will probably get at least one more in the future. - MOST IMPORTANTLY - It is a CMR (NOT SMR) drive

This is the best enclosure that I have come across! I can quickly insert a HDD and it will connect immediately. I can then remove the HDD and insert a SSD and it will connect immediately as well, all at "true" USB 3.0 speed. I purchased 2 of these and both have performed flawlessly for more than a year now, and that includes swapping drives into and out of the case as I see fit. It even comes with the USB 3.0 cable that is just the right length for laptop work. I am purchasing another one, even though the price has gone up 50% simply because they are soooo good to work with as an enclosure.

No issues with this drive. I have it partitioned into quarters as a slave drive.

Extremely reliable and efficient drive that is priced at a point that small businesses can benefit from. I purchased a pair of these to use as a on-site backup storage for my web server. Because my ISP charges per U, I bought a 1u server which used 2.5" drives; this works perfectly as I can instantly restore my customers' backups instead of having to go on-site and restore from off-site copies. These drives have been going strong for 3 years, now! I just moved them into a new array and have seen up to 135MB/sec write rate in a Raid1 config.
