SPEED! I tested file transfer speeds with this drive copying to-and-from a RAID0 of four 1TB Western Digital Black 64MB cache drives (all on SATA3 controllers). Initially a large file copy from RAID0 to this drive will burst up to about 450 MB/s and then slowly drop down to around 190 MB/s sustained. I also benchmarked this drive with 'HD Tach RW' benchmarking software on both SATA2 and SATA3 controllers for comparison. HD Tach SATA3 (6.0Gbps) - 340 MB/s Burst Speed - 210.7 MB/s Average Read - 194.9 MB/s Average Write - 9.1ms Random Access (Latency) HD Tach SATA2 (3.0Gbps) - 214.8 MB/s Burst - 174.0 MB/s Average Read - 155.2 MB/s Average Write - 9.2ms Random Access (Latency) Clearly this drive performs best on a SATA3 controller and maxes out a SATA2 controller. This is incredibly impressive for a single disk drive. The drive did not have a "sloping" HD Tach graph where the beginning performs faster than the end of the platters, as many do.

Simple to use, lots of options available for drive transfers

This is such a quiet drive 5 cameras record 24/7 and it doesn't bat an eye

Installed and mirrored two 16 TB drives for a NAS. These drives run 24/7 and used for data backup and streaming of my video collection. They are so quiet and responsive. I had previously used the same brand but lower capacity for 4 years without any failure. Those previous drives have been repurposed for desktop storage and still performing well.

8tb hard drive that works

I absolutely love this Hard Drive. Its powerful. My computer runs so smooth now. Honestly I won't ever have to buy another Hard Drive again. I'm most certainly confident that this piece of computer equipment will last me for years and I'm really excited to see what this baby can handle!!

Absolutely the best HDDs on the market! Now I have room for a LOT of future storage.

Easy to set up, good value

Nice HD 2.5" case.

Works as intended. I bought this product for home personal cloud storage and I guess it will work well.

It has huge space to store. Fast storage process if you have a USB 3.0 port in your pc or laptop. I am very happy with the fast backup time made in my computer.

- It's a HDD... - It's 1TB, which is what I ordered - SATA 6Gbs

- Capacity - Speed - Buffer size - Reliability

The cost for this 8TB was only slightly higher than the 2TB. I have been using WD externals for years and never had an issue.

Provided exact replacement for failed 500 GB in refurbished product, and 7200 RPM upgrade. Formatting and Transferring back-up image was a snap.

easy of control of what you want on it(included software is easy to understand

Easy use. Just plug it in. Win 10 has no issues finding and assigning the drive. Chose the red to help keep business data separate.

I have to say that this is the biggest drive ive ever bought and it works great, noisy clickibg noises but no problems other then the annoying clicking while gaming, so i turn up the speakers and it works.
