Bought this drive based on my experience with three other Spinpoints that I have purchased! Purchased a 320 gb from Newegg about 5 months ago, and have not had any problems. Purchased two other ones (1-250 gb $ 1-320 gb) from local retailer and are still working fine. The two purchased from local retailer were bought before Seagate ownership. As I stated, bought this drive based on passed experience, and because of $44.99 price. After registering drive on Seagate's website, I verified the warranty and it came back stating that it is covered by a 2 year warranty, not 1 year. Verified twice with the same result-warranty expires 21/June/2015. Also, the drive that I received was just manufactured in March of this year.

7200 RPM 500GB of space Extremely quiet Quite a bit snappier then the old 5400RPM drive I used to have in this old laptop

ordered on 25 already using it on 28 appeared to be new static wrapped well boxed affordable and worked flawless

Just as dirt slow as the 3 year old Seagate Momentus drive it replaced (expected) but runs around 10C cooler and a good deal quieter. MFG date on drive was only 2 months ago, and it's refurbished? Not bad not bad!

- SSHD - Only takes a couple days to cache most used files. - Seagate, I have used many Seagate drives and not one has failed on us to date.

Super easy to upgrade ... using Acronis True Image WD Edition. No problems migrating my old 250GB drive with OS and apps to the new drive.

Easy to install in laptop. Fast, Quiet.

cheaper then HP Drives

Replaced the failing Dell 320gb HD with this thin 500Gb and it is quiet!!! and fast. Plus the extra room allows for a little more heat dissipation in my Inspiron n5010 laptop. Excellent price also

This drive runs between 95 & 97F in my Thinkpad T60. Thats about 5 degrees cooler than the factory hard drive. It is as quieter than the factory drive, almost silent. The boot time fell from 45 seconds with the stock 5400rpm Seagate drive to 30 seconds with this drive. Booting Ubuntu Linux.

Quiet and fast. Seems a lot faster than the 160 GB WD drive that it replaced.

Just upgraded my 80gb to this 1tb hd! Very easy to install.
