This is a very slim and trim laptop hard drive. 320GB, 7200RPM and 16MB cache are good specs for any OS drive. I installed it on my 2 year old netbook, and installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview 32 bit. So far it has been fast and very quiet. Which is exactly what this kind of drive is intended for. I have no reservations about recommending this drive for an upgrade for space and increased speed.
