- Ease of setup - Speed / functionality
I added this interface to a Proxmox VM system to add SSD drives to a virtual NAS machine. Proxmox easily identified the controller and I was able to pass thru the SSD's to the NAS.
The LSI-9305 required no setup. Merely plug it in, connect the SAS cables to the backplane and poof, done. This card supports 3.0 and 6.0 gb/s hard drives and SSD's
Windows 10 home recognized it right away installed the drivers and it's been working great.
It worked with no fuss: shut down ubuntu, popped in the card, hooked up a drive, powered up and there it was in the drives app.
Works out of the box. Plugged it in, showed in BIOS, booted Windows and it found the drivers automatically. ezpz
Fast. Copying from my old computer to this one across gigabit ethernet uses well over half the available bandwith. The write speed is just so much better than the on board Intel raid. For another 250, you can add another 15 or 20 drives if you have that need, search for "intel raid expander." And did I say fast. Good tech support.
- Works out of the box on FreeBSD 11 - No issues with 4Kn drives
-Recognized directly with Truenas -Well packaged in a plastic case to protect the card in shipping.
Exactly as advertised. Works.
16 ports without expander up to 128 drives with additional expander Cachecade ssd+Hdd capable (addon $)
SUPER fast. Maxxed out my PCIe x4 2.0 slot with just 2 SSDs. I'm in the process of getting a system with PCIe x8 3.0 slots to truly test this beast with 6 drives. Will update after. I'm getting amazing speed by just creating a software RAID 0 setup through windows 7.
Super fast file transfer Recognized all of my 24 WD 12TB HDDs upon drivers install without any issues. Comes in IT mode firmware preinstalled so great right out of the box. Extremely well constructed.
