Buy Size is easy to transport ! Fits inside computer case with Velcro straps! I had seagste drive that fell 3 feet and never turned on. I haven't dropped this ... But supposed to be protected. Usual transfer speeds for my files has been ( high of about 14 mb/second to a low of 5 ) That could be my computer and not the drive Took all my 8gb, 16 GB ,32 senate Zip drives and put in one place on lacy Took old DVD and CDs and copy to lacy Dividing things into 128 GB folders So can have second backup copy of LaCie drive on usb Then I make second use copy Eventually will buy a second Lacey and make additional backup of LaCie Ok LaCie a little slower than I thought But no problems so far PS - SETUP for both Mac and PC You move slider all the way And it's so easy! Works great with both my MacBook and my pc ! I bought and registered some 3 year data backup recovery plan as well YOUR LIFE IS YOUR DATA! Having college papers and other stuff on lacy including music collection, articles , books ... Well paying only $200 for LaCie plus recovery plan is huge Bargin! Nice to throw out old small usb and Targums 320 dvd case BUY LACIE ! You likely don't need thunderbolt version And key with this is peace of mind protection that if it drops from desk you won't lose your life or data ! Has paid for itself in terms of making downsizing easy . If there was a fire , I'd grab the LaCie drive and leave everything else . NOT MY REAL NAME OR EMAIL

Internal shock absorbers are a plus.

WD 4TB My Passport Portable Storage USB 3.2 Gen 1 is great product at good price with prompt and pleasant purchasing experience.

It is plug and play, very fast and reliable. Very good price. Very good performance. Fast delivery

Performatted, which I know is no big deal, but it saved time and made it very convenient. Just plugged it in and it was ready to go. Started loading games onto it right away. Delivery was prompt and no hassles. Great job, goHardDrive team.

Lots of storage for a not bad price. It is a little thicker than other drives I have had (~0.8"), but there is 4TB of storage so it is to be expected. It is also a little heavier than other drives I have had which is good because it doesn't slide around if you adjust your macbook. Between the weight of the drive and the rubber feet, I don't think it will be an issue getting pulled off the table. It does come formatted with HFS+. Windows will not recognize this drive out of the box. If you want to use this drive with both a mac and a pc, you will either need to install an HFS+ driver for windows or try your luck with exFAT (might be buggy for external drives, read up on it before you do it). There is also a procedure for getting a mac to mount a drive as read/write for NTFS, but by default OSX only mounts NTFS partitions as read only. To use solely for windows, you can format the drive as NTFS in windows from the Disk Management utility. There is a white status LED, it is a little bright, but not blinding. Drive also comes with an adapter if you don't have the USB type C connector. The Type C connector is USB 3.1 without the usual two flips of the connector before it finally goes in.

Delivery was fast, an the external drive worked without any issues.

It works. You plug it in to your USB port and away it goes. A pretty good backup program gets installed and you just tell it what you want. What more could you want. The competitive product I had decided it needed all new software which didn't work. You do have to wonder why companies insist on trashing functioning programs with stuff that just doesn't work.
