I recently purchased an external USB-C SSD. The read-write speed was 40 MBPS in a USB 3.1 port with a 'hi-speed' A to C adapter cable. Using the ASM3242, my new SSD reads and writes @ 600 MBPS. ~ Manual says Driver CD included. No CD is in the box. No driver disk is needed. Windows 10+ supports this chipset with built-in drivers.
