AMD Phenom II X2 550 - Phenom II X2 Callisto Dual-Core 3.1 GHz Socket AM3 80W Desktop Processor - HDX550WFGMBOX

Pros: Nice upgrade for my dad's AMD 5600 X2 that I got him in the original build three years ago. Great price for performance and it works in his Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe with a BIOS upgrade (5001).

Cons: It's not an octal core for the same price :p

Overall Review: Thought Asus gave up on this board, but they didn't. Very happy they're providing BIOS for PhenomII's on older boards like this one.

A glitch after updating BIOS though: reported an error during BIOS boot...had to go into BOIS and save even though I had no changes. Also, installed the new CPU after getting the error assuming the 5600X2 was the problem. Maybe it was partially? dunno. And, had to hit the delete key to get into BIOS before the error message showed, else it would hang. Odd. If you have odd problems, just play around with it like I did.

My dad called before I got home from installing it and said "whoa it's faster!". Pretty cool for $80.

Windows7 experience index for CPU went from 5.9 to 6.5. Better than I thought it would get.

Cons: BENT PINS. 1/2 Hour doing the old credit card trick to get it to drop in,a pain in the rear !!!

Overall Review: This was not shipping damage,it was done at the factory.Newegg packed it well and there was no damage to the factory box.I have built and repaird a lot of computers and knew what to do but some dont and AMD wont rma them with bent pins.
