Pros: Bought this for an HTPC which will also be used for some heavy processing for video coding and game server hosting. Performance has been very nice so far. No complaints about the actual chip. AMD STILL runs hot. Being a closet AMD fanboy, and being an owner of Intel chips for nearly 3 years, it was nice to see an AMD chip in the house again. Unfortunately, they still run hot- almost 10c hotter at idle than my i7. Unreal.

Cons: What a disappointing heatsink and fan combination. I bought this as an HTPC and therefore I need it quiet. Everything in the case is perfect, except for this stupid fan on this heatsink. With their "Black Edition" "Performance" processor, I assumed I could count on at least a decently sized fan to keep the noise down especially at an idle temp of 44c+

This thing is easily 3x louder than the other FOUR 120mm FANS in the case. I'm actually forced to buy an after market heatsink and fan just so I can get this thing out of the rig. I docked it 2 eggs for this- I'm so disappointed in this blatant oversight in design.

Overall Review: NewEgg, once again, was perfect. Ordered on a Friday, part arrived on a Tuesday. I have noticed a slight downturn in their packaging lately. The processor was shipped with other system parts and this thing was jammed on the side of the motherboard box and the outter shipping box with no "packing paper" to protect it. No damage during shipping, but it could have easily been worse knowing the shipper used.
