AMD Phenom 9600 Agena 2.3GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 2MB L3 Cache Socket AM2+ 95W Quad-Core Processor

Pros: It overclocked to 2.7ghz easily.
2.8ghz required a bump in voltage, ran well for one benchmark, but eventually froze. I decided to keep it down to 2.6ghz for every day use.

2.6ghz for the price of 2.3 aint bad!

Cons: I was hoping for 3.0ghz since I was still riding the rush from getting 3.2 out of my 5000+ BE.

Overall Review: By comparing AOD Benchmark results between my 5000+ and 9600+ BE's, I have determined that the 9600+ @ 2.6ghz = 5000+ @ 3.0ghz.

I consider this to be satisfactory evidence to the effect that the Phenom is a lot better than people make it out to be.

Pros: It is very fast even at stock speeds. Faster than my AMD 5600x2 at 3.2Ghz. Stock cooler is flippin great. Works better than my after market one, could be better though (see cons)

Cons: TLB bug was VERY MUCH PRESENT in this cpu. I turn the patch for it off and 10 minutes later BAM computer just freezes up, no BSOD, no nothing, have to hit reset button. I leave patch on and I get no problems so thats why I conclude its the TLB bug, if its not shame on me... The cooler cools great but the surface that goes on the cpu is not smooth and reflective, infact it reminded me of sandpaper. I still used it as is but plan on getiing it lapped, shaved, whatever its called. Processer did not over clock even 100 Mhz before I get a BSOD

Overall Review: Bought it for my AMD spider system to hold me over till the 9950 or 3.0 Ghz Phenom comes out. This cpu works great, stock with patch, but I bought it to overclock a little and it just didnt overclock. Will but it in my linux rig soon as faster Phenoms come out.
