-Price, price, price: This is hands down one of the best deals for a laptop. The ratio of power to cost is rather high
-Plenty of power behind it; it can play TF2 and WoW at full settings and still maintain framerates of 50+ with other programs running in the background. Also benchmarks well with Windows, as someone else has posted.
- Full keyboard with numpad
-x64 OS
- Blu-Ray drive
- Construction is sturdy
- It gets rather hot, but that's to be expected with most notebooks in this hardware category
- The left and right click function are on either side of a single button, and clicking is a bit loud.
- Finish likes to pick up smudges and fingerprints (the included cloth does a good job of cleaning them, however)
- Lots of bloatware
- A bit heavy
- The screen has a glossy finish
The good far outweighs the bad on this. It's an incredibly hard deal to beat, and it's worth every penny.
Nice screen, graphics, this computer has potential if you want to invest a lot of time fixing its flaws.
Blu-ray didnt work, took a fair amount of confusion to get it operation. The updated software on the ASUS support website shows a dropdown list for 32-bit versions only, which for some reason they havent fixed (the 32-bit OS version listed on the website is 64-bit compatible as well, which I only found out by talking to tech support).
I was also under the impression this would be a DVD+RW with Blu-ray+RW, but the software only lets you burn from the E:\ to the E:\. Which means, I have no idea.
This computer is very buggy from a software standpoint, and customer service is like a Chinese fire drill. The first time I called tech support, I was told this computer is not Blu-ray equipped, and had an argument with the person who told me to read the specs, which made me pretty ticked off. I haven't received clear instructions or advice on anything, and have already called ASUS tech support 5 times.
The system also has a lot of bloatware.
