Pros: -Price is nearly unbeatable for 1080p widescreen monitor as of May, 2009.

-Screen quality is high after a rather-long series of adjustments.

Cons: -Very difficult (i.e. perhaps impossible, according to searches on several forums) to make non-widescreen (4:3) resolutions work on this monitor. This means, if you play any older games that do not have native widescreen compatibility, they will end up grossly stretched to fill the entire monitor. This is not true for other widescreen monitors, for which my video card can detect and adjust for appropriately by putting black bars on the sides of the 4:3 image.

-Takes a long time to adjust properly so that color and contrast are not overbright and oversaturated.

-Cheap stand that lacks height adjustment.

Overall Review: -Running Vista 64 with NVidia 9800GT video card.

-I would recommend this to a more advanced user who doesn't mind downloading new video drivers/software to try to get this monitor to work well. The price is definitely great for the size and resolution.

Pros: Exceptional quality for the price. Have purchased dozens of these monitors, many from newegg, and only 1 had a bad pixel. Bezels are ideal for multi-monitor setup. Monitor is suited for many tasks though it will betray poor quality signal/media because of it's 1080 resolution. There's a lot to like about this display at the $150.00 price point

Cons: Controls are a bit clumsy. Glossy finish on the bezel is not my cup of tea but that is just preference. Dynamic contrast will blackout dark backgrounds. That's really it without nitpicking, when considering the price as compared to competition.

Except for the rebate, which is a big deal to me. I followed rebate instructions precisely and made copies. I never received a rebate for ANY of these monitors including the 3 I purchased as far back as April. Contacted newegg, they said it's not their problem; call Asus. Contacted Asus; was treated like dirt and basically every call ended up with "well, if you the customer haven't messed this up, you 'should' get your rebate checks. One day."

I consider not honoring an advertisement tantamount to fraud. This is bad business from Asus and I wish newegg, which is a stellar business, would either enforce these rebate claims or drop them.

Overall Review: If you want a good monitor at a good value, put this on your list. If you actually consider the rebate as part of your build estimates go ahead and purchase from a more reputable manufacturer because Asus rebates are just a sales gimmick for them.
