Update for my previous review

Very nice sound still, Very functional Very Comfortable.

Updated review to add a CON from my previous Review............. Product has an issue many people are seeing online, and I have now experienced this myself.

If you are holding the power button and turning them off it can put them into "Boot Mode" rendering them useless until you re-flash the Firmware to get them working again.

See "Other Thoughts" on the steps provided by Corsair.

13. I've plugged my headset in to charge but it doesn't appear to be charging and doesn't turn on. What's wrong with it?

The headset may have inadvertently been placed in "bootloader mode". When in bootloader mode, the headset will disable all audio and lighting, in other words it will appear to be off. Bootloader mode is our failsafe protocol that prevents the headset from becoming unresponsive, which typically happens if the headset is improperly disconnected during a firmware update.

14. I never disconnected my headset during a firmware update. Why is it in bootloader mode?

If a button is held down inadvertently while plugging the headset in to charge, it may go into bootloader mode.

15. Is there any way to recover the headset from bootloader mode?

Yes. If you re-flash the firmware the headset will return to normal. You can do this by going into CUE's Settings, under Settings, there will be an "Update Firmware" button. Click the "Update firmware" button and use "Force update from the server" option. Once the headset is recovered, it will need to be paired with wireless adapter.

16. How do I pair my headset to the wireless adapter?

First you will need to use a paper clip to insert to the small hole under the white LED on the wireless adapter. Press and hold it for a few seconds and the white LED will begin rapidly flashing. Then on the headset press and hold the power button (while the headset is off) for 8 seconds, if done correctly the LEDs on InfoMic will begin flashing green and red. Once the headset is paired, InfoMic will indicate that it is paired by pulsing green and the adapter will no longer rapidly flash.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Comfy w/ Decent Sound Quality. "Plasticky" build.

- Sound quality was very good. I could hear the most minute detail in each scene, ranging from echoes to footsteps. Sounded good in games AND for listening to music.

- Battery lasts fairly long (around 13 hours) in my testing.

- The earcups are large and comfortable.

- Corsair software gives the user many options for adjusting the sound and lighting of the headset.

- Indicator lights near the tip of the microphone to let you know when the microphone is muted, battery life and equalizer settings.

- Wireless connection would sometimes drop out requiring the PC to be rebooted for connection to be re-established.

- The headset has to be recharged because it is wireless.

- Because the microphone has status LEDs on it, it has to be positioned further away from the user's face so the LEDs can still be seen by the user.

- Microphone was kind of weak. Had to speak louder compared to other headsets I've used, so people could hear me clearly.

- No extension cable or dock so the transmitter / receiver can be placed closer to the headset / user.

This headset had pretty good sound quality, but the mic. was a little bit of a let-down for something at this price point.

At this price it also should have come with a USB extension cable / dock so the transmitter / receiver could be placed closer to the user wearing the headset.

The price is a bit high for what you get and the build quality needs work. The whole unit seems to be plastic.

Lighting feature is a gimmick since you don't actually get to see it since you wear the headset on your head. Might get you noticed at a LAN party though.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this headset to friends and family. You can get better at a lower price.
