Pros:
ear cup design is circumaural (means overear design)
total customizability of sound profiles (which actually does something for once)
microphone is amazing, best i've ever had, the mute button is a nice feature too
pressure on my head is just perfect
I have a big head and wear glasses, this is the only headset that allows me to wear my glasses without causing pain.
The manual says to lightly stretch the headband and it made the fit PERFECTLY, most of the people who've given a negative review have most likely not setup the headset correctly and are to stupid to know the difference between stereo and virtual 7.1, let alone read the manual. Aaaanyway, use this correctly and you'll love it.
The sound of the cable is correct, however it's been greatly exaggerated, having owned many high and low end headphone over my gaming years, this is a regular occurrence and really doesn't matter, it's only because of the size of the empty space inside the ear cup that the sound is magnified, still tho not very lound
When I bought this, I was really worried after reading people's reviews, this is an awesome headset, the minor points are very minor by comparison and considering these are alot cheaper than the v-moda 100's I was using before now, plus the comfort of no more glasses pain, I love my new headset :D
Price, I was able to pick these up for around 75 dollars elsewhere. Sound is... decent I suppose, and there are a lot of options to customize in the Razer software. Mic is alright, if a bit finicky at times (had problems with it fading in and out).
Sound is fairly terrible, bass overwhelms the highs and mids, resulting in extremely poor quality, unrealistic sound. I guess this is the Beats age so Razer seemed to just take inspiration from those. Its not surprising though, the hardware in these is bad, 40mm drivers and VIRTUAL (not real) 7.1 surround.
They aren't comfortable, now this is going to depend per user. I have a small head, and from what I gathered on these, the clamping force is simply too high. After about 3-4 hours, my ears are in pain everytime no matter how I adjust these. My ears don't entirely fit in the circular ear cups. Why are they circular? I have no idea, but if they changed the shape it would've been better.
I'm a fan of Razer products, I own a Deathadder, a Blackwidow Ultimate, and a Goliathus Control. These all seem to be in Razers field of expertise. Audio though, which is completely different, is clearly not. The sound on these is frankly just bad, muddled, and overloaded with bass and VIRTUALIZED 7.1 surround. The hardware is terrible, even at this price you can get much better.
My advice, ignore these stupid "Gaming" headsets and get a pair of headphones from a company that actually KNOWS and has years of experience in ACTUAL AUDIO. Something from Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, Shure, Superluxe, AKG, Beyerdynamic, or Bose will blow these things clear out of the water while costing the same or less.
This is the first Razer product I've been disappointed in, and I will never buy another pair of headphones from them again. While I'd be more than happy to purchase another keyboard, mouse, or mousepad if I needed too, this stuff is NOT what Razer does or should be doing.
