Very good sounding buds.. I had the first gen for a really long time and I finally snagged the cord one to many times and broke them. Keep in mind earbuds like a lot of speakers go through a break in period.

To the one guy who gave this a negative review.. I can't believe you would compare cheap Skull Candy buds to these. I have the cheap skull buds and they don't sound anywhere as good as the CX300 II. If your getting a hum the problem is your source. I think you may have been jamming the skull candies so long that you think they are good.....

I've owned these ear buds for about 3 months. I was pretty happy with them until recently. The left side earbud suddenly lost about 90% of its volume. It's not dead, just completely imbalanced in power. I've confirmed that this is definitely a problem with the ear bud, not the sound source. Now that I'm overseas and unable to return the buds to newegg or get them services easily, I'm left without the quality sound I wanted. This is pretty frustrating. It should not be that hard to build reliable earbuds!
