Cools very well, best price/performance air cooler availiable along with the 212 EVO. I can't say how much it dropped my temps on my i5-4670K since I didn't even bother putting on the wimpy looking stock cooler. It keeps it around 50-60C at load at stock speeds and gets up to 75C with an overclock to 4.2-4.3GHz.
It's not the best looking thing but it gets the job done.
This is the second one I've bought. I liked the first one so much I used it for my next build as well! I didn't even bother putting the stock Intel cooler on, and went straight for my Hyper 212+. It cools enough for my needs so I saved a few bucks by not getting the EVO.
The cooler works well and keeps my 2500k running at 29 - 33 degrees C at idle. I haven't checked it at 100% usage or overclocked yet.
I installed this cooler on a MSI P67A-C43 motherboard and a Intel 2500k chip. When used with this board, it hits the 4th DIMM when using some of the taller RAM such as my G-Skill Ripjaw. I had to move the fan to the other side of the heat sync so things would fit. The problem is that you have to flip the brackets around on the fan so the airflow will blow towards the back of the case.
This isn't an issue except for the fact that you have to remove the sticky pads they use for cushions because they block access to the screws. The cooler works well, but I think they should have included some more sticky pads in case you have to flip the brackets on the fan. They included extra brackets if you purchase another fan later, but no sticky pads. I had to run out and get some double sided tape to put them back on the other side.
I'll have to edit my review once I get a chance to overclock. I just want to make sure I have a stable installation of Windows before I go overclocking.
