Excellent. I have been running at 1111Mhz for 4 months now with a dual-boot XP/Vista setup, Nvidia 680i chipset using 2-8800GTX cards in SLI. Once properly set up, this system roars. The Crysis Demo in VERY HIGH settings is a breeze. With any memory, your system must be properly set up.
Initial configuration hic-ups as with all 680i chipset boards. So far, no cons with this memory.
This memory can be sensitive, but once you tame it, there is none better. One hint- if you have problems with ANY memory as I did initially with this, take the modules out and swap them. Many times that is all it takes as was the case for me and this Corsair. Also remember-the Corsair warranty is exceptional--should it fail, it will be replaced. When you get quality this high, don't expect that you will not have to tailor it to your system. Corsiar has stated (in various forums) that a lot of the memory RMA'd is not defective at all. It's simply a matter of people not knowing how to set their systems up properly. Patience can be rewarding!
it's fast...darn fast if you can manually tune things
it dies in days not even taxed...UNDERclocked.
you have to overclock your board to get the 1111 mhz for AMD nvidia 590 boards, at least; a corsair tech said it could be underclocked and use 3-4-3-9 timings (like their other model) and creep up the 800 mhz a little. less than a week at 860 mhz with 3-4-3-9 timings and the memory died...keep in mind, the 3-4-3-9 doesn't overclock the ram, it just tells the cpu the # of cycles to expect various row/column ops. so i was UNDERclocking it (and this was at the advice of the manufacturer). I'm getting it replaced, but I would recommend the 2nd round of the pc6400C3DF, 800mhz ddr2 and 3-4-3-9 is it's natural state.
though, i don't like that all these 'settings' require 2.4v for ram. is that too high? my originals of that pair died, too, in a day (it was DOA practically). oh replacement 'guaranteed in 10 bus days or less'. took > 25 bus days and eventually they wouldn't take calls (10+ min hold time), no email reply and made no apologies come the end when I JUST got the memory tue
