Using a Asus P6T with intel i7 920.
Memory timing 9-9-9-24 were recognized correct in the bios, but the speed was not. I manually increased the speed to 1600mhz with no problems. No hic-ups and system is rock solid stable. More so than the last 3 computers I built. I feel there is more headroom on this memory than stated in the specs. Definitely would reccomend to a friend.
Can watch AVCHD natively with encoding going on in the background!!!! What more can I ask for? The memory obviously can handle it.
None. Some peole might say price, but the price is what it is so don't complain if your willing to pay it. That is my outlook on it. Cutting edge is always expensive.
I've been away from the bleeding edge and the new i7/x58 systems are new so I was a little nervous about compatibility/stability. No issues and I'm extremely pleased with the entire combo. More stable than the last 3 computers I built. I've been waiting 16 years for a computer like this, finally it's here!
Performs well at stock settings with XMP profile easily selected in BIOS.
This memory performs fine at the rated speed and timings only if the CPU is not overclocked. I ran dozens of tests to isolate individual variables and found that when the chip is overclocked this memory cannot perform at the same specs. Initially I thought this was due to the chip but this issue did not appear with similar rated OCZ RAM. It turns out that increasing the CPU frequency puts a load on both the integrated memory controller of the chip and the memory, and this memory could not keep up. For more details you can review my (undisputed) findings on the OCN forums where my username is 'aph'.
The "support" representative on the Corsair forums claims the RAM is fine because it works fine at stock settings. By that criteria, this memory is not designed for anyone planning to overclock.
I am now running OCZ Platinum 1866 RAM and happily running at 1600 at 7-7-7-15 timings! As I said it also happily goes up to 1866 without any of the Corsair's issues.
Overall, NewEgg has an excellent refund policy. However, if you want to take a chance on this memory be prepared to take a hit with a percentage of your refund going to restocking costs.
