High Capacity, High Frequency, Great QVL list provided already by G Skill, Broad Support, Samsung B Die, Low Latency, Low CAS Latency, tight timings even with XMP, Works Great with intel XMP 2.0 or with AMD Ryzen Sytems, Tons of RGB settings available with software, Looks Great.
Requires higher voltage than XMP provides to remain stable on some systems, Expensive, Some Users will like the look of the Original Trident Z Royals, Scratches Easily, attracts finger prints, Gloves basically required when installing, will require some configuration beyound XMP on some systems.
I had been waiting specifically for these kits after doing research that showed significant performance gains for both intel and AMD Ryzen systems for gsming when using high frequency, low latency memory. In fact, a higher performance gain than getting the next CPU up or using PCIe Gen 4.0 vs 3.0 when using an Nvidia 30 series GPU. I am still shocked that it's not common knowledge with all the benchmarks out there. Switching to this kit my 1% lows in Cold War when up over 20 FPS (22 FPS average) and I was getting over 25 FPS higher on my average FPS (roughly 27-32FPS). All I did was go from Hynix C Die memory kits that were 2666mhz to Samsung B die 3600mhz memory. No other adjustments were made. Not even to fan curves. This put my 1% lows over 200 FPS for most of the games I play. The kits look great, and in my opinion bring the Royal series to the 2021 design Era nicely. The original design was beginning to look dated in my opinion. Some folks will prefer the look of the Original. Pictures don't r eally give you a good view of the memory. These do catch far more light even from other LED in your system, which adds a nice effect. On Intel Z590 with an i9 10850k with XMP enabled I get roughly 51GB/s read, write, and copy. The overall Latency ranked #1 best when using AID64 and comparing results online. And just under 52 ns overall. The Memoey latency by itself is 7.778 ns. AMD Zen 3 and Zen 4 will see over 55GB/s read write and copy however at the cost of higher latency well over 60 ns due to the chiplet design. Since this is the highest frequency you can go with Zen 3 without over clocking the infinity fabric it's a fantastic choice for AMD as well as intel. I also have issues going over 4000mhz with Z590 or Z490 and with 36000mhz CL 14 actually out performing 4266mhz CL17 kits I've tested I would suggest these over higher speed DDR4 kits anyway. G SKILLS got a very Broad QVL and I found if the kit is listed for your motherboard it will work. I ran into one issue. I did have to manually increase my page file size for some reason using this memory with intel systems. An issue I ran into on mutiple Z590 chipsets with both 10th and 11th Gen CPUs. I didn't have the issue with Ryzen though. If you have issues with XMP before increasing voltage or doing a return or RMA I would suggest manually increasing the page file size. Windows 10 will default too small anyway if you install over 16Gb so you should be doing this anyways. Other than this strange issue, no other problems! Since it was such an easy fix, I did not lower my rating. Best memory you can get in my opinion.

I received the wrong model of ram due to the seller not actually owning the stock they were selling. I got a similar batch with a timing of 16-22-22-24. Be careful which seller you buy from because there are some using drop shipping.

| Features | Unique crystalline heatspreader & light bar design. Fluid rainbow wave default lighting effect. Hand-screened IC & custom 10-layer PCB for improved overclock performance. Intel XMP 2.0 Support. Do not mix memory kits. Memory kits are sold in matched kits that are designed to run together as a set. Mixing memory kits will result in stability issues or system failure. Memory kits will boot at the SPD speed at default BIOS settings with compatible hardware. For memory kits with XMP, enable XMP/DOCP/A-XMP in BIOS to reach the rated potential XMP overclock speed of the memory kit, subject to the use of compatible hardware. Reaching the rated XMP overclock speed and system stability will depend on the compatibility and capability of the motherboard and CPU used. Usage in any manner inconsistent with manufacturer specifications, warnings, designs, or recommendations will result lower speeds, system instability, or damage to the system or its components. Refer to the G.SKILL memory kit QVL on the G.SKILL website to check motherboard compatibility. |
