Runs all my games at great resolution and framerates on high settings (COD 4, Bioshock, Left 4 Dead etc...). Performance in every application is fantastic. You can't beat the price to performance ratio with this chipset!
HOT HOT HOT in my Acer X1700! Idle @ 55-60C and full load gaming around 80C! Fan is quite loud but is to be expected running at near 100 percent. I need to find a better way to cool my little HTPC with this thing in it
When not gaming the card is quiet enough to not bother me. When gaming I have sound up loud enough to not notice. It's how hot it runs that bothers me, but what can you expect cramming this much GPU in a tiny case? Overall i love the little thing even if I might have to do some mods to bring temps down....
Powerful Card in such a small package. Runs things really great. However...
Statements on Heat:
1 DVI-VGA Adapter + 1 Monitor: 120F Idle, 140 Stressed
All Above + S-Video TV-OUT on Nvidia's Dual View: 140F Idle, 155 Stressed
All Above Instead, TV-OUT using Adapter for Component: 175 Idle, 250+ Stressed until the card Shuts Off.
This Card does not handle HD very well. On top of that with the Adapter in place and a set of GOOD Component cables the Adapter doesn't like to stay seated in the TV-Out.
I think there may be a Defect in the card where it doesn't report the temperature to the ISOBus properly. You can stick your hand in there when it's running at 200 Degrees and you'd think you'd feel some ambient heat...nope.
I've contacted Galaxy about this matter and they tried to state that they did not support the TV-OUT-to-Component adapter. I had to email them the picture from NewEgg to show them I wasn't lying that the thing was included with the card. They're going to RMA it for me and see what's up. I'm pretty certain very few people are using this Component Adapter 'and' playing a Graphically Stressing computer game and that may lead to them not understanding the source or cause of the problem. If you want HD, I highly suggest finding a card with HDMI out and check the reviews thoroughly. They're very helpful unless you're doing something outside of the Norm.
