GIGABYTE G1 Gaming GA-H170-Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0) LGA 1151 Intel H170 HDMI USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: A very high quality built motherboard that strongly appealed to me since I wasn't overclocking. It's not the cheapest Skylake motherboard you'll find, but it's not the most expensive making it sit at a great price point considering it's features. Encountered no issues upon first boot up, and everything was automatically detected. BIOS flashing was also very simplistic and fast. It also had pretty red lights on it!

Cons: Had a bit of a struggle aligning the mounting points, it didn't seem to properly sit into the I/O shield without requiring a bit of force.

Overall Review: If you're looking for a well priced but high quality Skylake motherboard and aren't overclocking, look no further. Would definitely like to use this motherboard again in a future build.

Pros: Good build. Good value. Broad type of connections.

Cons: Both PCIe x1 slots provide power to my cards, but don't communicate, nor do they show up properly in Device Manager (one did partially).

Overall Review: Aside from my particular issue, I have nothing negative to say about this MB.
The PCIex1 cards I own (moving from an older computer to this one) would never work on the PCIex1 slots, but moving them to either or both long slots (PCIex16 and/or PCIex4) it always worked perfectly. Even after reinstalled everything from scratch (OS and drivers in proper sequence), to be certain I had not done something wrong, but always the same outcome.
Just did the RMA to Newegg. I am not certain if this is an issue with this model MB or just this particular one I got.

So, after all this, and just ordering another MB, this time from ASUS, I want to state that I contacted Gigabyte support before and after the RMA to Newegg, and it has been a bit disappointing for me. The going back and forth takes a bit of time, which is to be expected, but thank goodness I RMA the faulty MB back to Newegg before the 30 days were up. The impression I received from the interaction with Gigabyte's eSupport (by email) appears that their knowledge level is NOT excellent; a bit of the run-around.
The truth of the matter is that I contacted them in trying to be courteous and letting them know that there may be an issue with these boards.
Anyway, old news.
This was my first RMA ever, and Newegg was very, very good about it.
Hoping that when the new ASUS Z170-A arrives, it will provide years of trouble free service; keeping my fingers crossed.
