I purchased a Lenovo Y700 bare minimum.. Open M.2 80mm port, single stick of memory.. 5400rpm drive.. But it had potential! Then I purchased THIS! Popped it in, couldn't clone from 2.5" drive to this for the life of me.. But that had to be my fault.. USER ERROR. So I opt'ed for a clean install of Windows 10 from a USB AND OHMYGOD IT'S SO FAST. And BIG. SO. MUCH. SOLID STATE. STORAGE. I installed this and replaced the 2.5" 5400rpm drive with a 1TB(32GB Solid state partition) SSHD simultaneously and I hardly use the SSHD over this gorgeous piece of technology.
Five year warranty from INTEL.
Drive health monitoring software!
HOW COULD THERE BE ANY NEGATIVE ATTRIBUTES TO THIS PRODUCT?!?!
If you have an open M.2 YOU NEED TO FILL IT.
You're wasting so much potential..
Your grandmother would be so disappointed..
Buy this and make her proud!
- Worked great after it installed
- Really fast, lots of storage
- Drive failed after only about 4 months of use with no warning at all from Intel's SSD Toolbox utility. Was running great up until then. Suddenly one day my machine rebooted in the middle of using it and a SMART Bios error claimed the drive was about to fail. Unmountable boot device after setting BIOS defaults and rebooting. After throwing Windows 10 on a secondary SSD SATA drive I had laying around I attempted to access the 540s to see if I could get anything off of it, but while it showed up in Windows Explorer it could not be accessed at all.
- Installed into an ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming/AURA motherboard.
- Purchased this on a sale for $299 as my first M.2 SSD. Has made me really hesitant to want to replace it with another one in lieu of a standard SATA drive.
