Fantastic overclocking ability on this chip. I bought this with a Zerotherm Nirvana nvm120 cooler and clocked it to 3.4Ghz easily. Idle temps are around 37-39c with the load never breaking 49c. You can overclock this bad boy to 3.0ghz without raising the stock voltage at all. I saw a significant increase in my frame rates when going from 2.66ghz to 3.4ghz when combined with my geforce 9800gx2.
None in my book. If you pair this with the right cooler and case with decent airflow, its golden.
None
Its a quad core, great proc if you do not over clock
I bought this when the price dropped to replace my q6600. Stupid move, I returned this. With my q6600, Im running 3.8 Ghz with 1.45 volts 24/7. I thought, cool, I could run a 10 multi with 400 FSB and run a stable 4Ghz all day, YAH RIGHT. This proc was stable at 3.6, but if I brought it to 3.8, it would get shaky, it took 1.52v to stabilize @ 3.8. I could boot 4, but it would fail with glorious blue screens even before windows loaded. No matter the voltage
If your gonna get a quad core proc, and your considering this, or a 45nm proc, scratch both and get a q6600 with aftermarket cooling. For roughly two fifty you could get a q6600 running 3.6ghz easily, keep the temps under control and be flying!
