Outstanding performance for the price. Multi-tasking is no problem for this processor.
Stock heatsink and fan are barely adequate.
I am not familiar with AMD processors but compared to a single core 2.8 Ghz P4 and and single core 2.8 Ghz P4 w/ HT, this one blows them both away. I strongly suggest upgrading to an aftermarket cooling device as the stocker lets this CPU operate at just above 60 deg C (120 deg F) at full load. I bought an aftermarket cooler for $40 and some Arctic Silver 5 and now my CPU never gets hotter than the mid 40's (deg C). I do both gaming and run several apps at once including DVD re-coding and this processor is extremely well rounded; especially considering the price.
Processor performance to price ratio is great for entry into dual core.
Not as cool as the D9xx series or C2D, but is affordable. Intel heatsink SUCKS. Horrible design for attaching to motherboard. But it cools OK even with moderate overclock if you have good airflow.
Stock heatsink works fine in case with good airflow, even if overclocking modestly. Use Prime95 or other tasking program to check heat levels of processor when fully built.
