Tiny. Silent. Fast. Clean install of Windows 7 all the way to the final boot was about 7 minutes.
None - except my rant about drive capacity!
Cannot believe the 'Hard drive industry' is still perpetuating the 'formatted capacity' especially with drives that are simply just RAM! This is a 150GB drive. Is it really that hard to divide by 1024?
New Egg service – Awesome, as usual
The drive worked great for a few days…
Was easy to install, Windows 7 pro x64 installed to a working desktop in less than 20 minutes
Fast, quiet, just like the reviews state.
This drive was purchased on 12/29/09 – arrived 12/31/09
Windows 7 installed on 1/3/10…turned into a brick on 1/07/10
4 days of *light* use – the laptop (Toshiba Satellite A215-S5837) froze up – I restarted, and there was no more hard drive…gone completely. BIOS does not see it. Put the drive in my tower – not there either. Tried to see if any of the data was recoverable – tried Digital Rescue and Recover My Files – nothing, the drive is an $expensive$ paperweight, and it doesn’t do that well seeing it only weighs a couple of ounces. This is scary, I was always able to prepare for recovery with traditional drives, seeing this drive could be completely gone without a moment’s notice means there can be NOTHING stored on it except for an operating system.
(and stuff you WANT to lose)
I really didn’t lose much; I had my old system on the original drive.
This experience really makes me wonder if I really want another drive. The next time I may not be so lucky.
