"B" & "R" molded into the plastic so you know which way the power connect fits on. Both sides of the adapter keyed so you can only fit the IDE ribbon and laptop HDD on one way.
Hooked up laptop HDD to desktop to save some files after I messed up a Windows installation beyond repair.

Be sure you hook the power cord to the adapter the proper way. The black write attaches to the side with the "B" and the red wire attaches to the side with the "R"
Also make sure to connect the power cord itself to the correct side of the molex connector. Black to black and red to red, not black to black and red to yellow.
Finally use those old hard drives stuck in broken laptops!
...and have the adapter break after trying to install it!
Seriously, these adapters are fine but only if you're extremely gentle with them. I bought four, only two remain. Very shoddy workmanship on these things.
