Great Quality, Great brand, and great durability!
I have it set right now to 3-3-3-7-1T and runs great! Passed 24 hrs of memtest running at that. Although, I'm not completely sure if I'll try to put the CAS to 2.5...at anyrate, its great RAM.
Well, this is a con for me, but...this memory I got came with Elixir chips. And I emailed Kingston's tech-support, and they said the only difference between the two models (KVR400/1GR, KVR400X64C3A/1G) is the part number. I COMPLETELY find that hard to believe. But that is what they said.
Remember, you get what you pay for. Kingston has a great line of 100% tested products as they advertise. However, when I bought some new memory, (G31L) I payed an average amount for a 512mb stick, and the memory sucked! If you stick with brands you know AND can trust, you cant go wrong! (
They weren't DOA.
They still didn't work! I returned them. See below.
I bought this ram because it was cheap and because it fit my mobo. it worked in 2/4 slots but it didn't work in the other two because it didn't have matching serial numbers with the other two pieces of kingston valueram in my system that was over a year old.
FYI, Kingston labels lots of different ram valueram, and its almost like American tea --- the scraps. Serials that have different prefixes are incompatible with one another. If you want to buy this ram because its cheap, i recommend that you buy it all at once instead of in 1 year increments like me.
*I purchased 2gb 1 year, then when i decided to upgrade i purchased 2gb more that i had to return.
