LG WH10LS30 10X Blu-ray Burner - LightScribe Support - Bulk - OEM

Pros: So far I really like this drive! It makes no sound at all when running. My hard drives are noisier than this drive. It came with software to auto update the firmware (which is the 1st thing you should do after installation). It came with burning software and PowerDVD 8. I uninstalled PowerDVD 10 because of the stupid movie service they keep bugging you to sign up with every time you fire up the program. PowerDVD 8 works fine and is crapware free. This thing also comes with an sata cable, a pleasant surprise!

Cons: I know 2 months from now these drives will be under 100 bucks but I got it $20.00 off current price through Newegg's promo email. Thanks Newegg.

Overall Review: I burned a DVD off my hard drive to DVD-R with no problems and it burned fast. I copied a 12 gig file to a Verbatim BD-RE. I tried it 1st with IMGburn but IMGburn wanted to format the whole disk 1st and that choked about 3 quarters of the way through with an sata timeout error. This seems to be a common error with IMGburn so i wasn't too concerned. It burned fine with Cyberlinks "Power 2 Go". Later I erased it and reburned with IMGburn with no problems. Make sure you use good burning media or you'll be making some expensive coasters.

Pros: Worked great at first. Backed up some of my BD's after getting a fire wire case for it.

Cons: Stopped working after 3 months. it sits and makes constant accessing sounds but does nothing when a disc is inserted. If it's powered down then back up the disc will show up for about 45 seconds then disappear again and the only way to get it back is power cycle again.

Overall Review: Hope this is just a fluke and it is under warranty so it should be fixed.
