Pros: This is a great drive for the price (when on sale & it + shipping is less than an OEM drive).

Comes with white bezel (which swaps out easy).

This one is pretty quiet.

Cons: The included Nero DVD was messed up bad enough to lock-up windows explorer, and never showed that it had any contents at all.

The Nero CD is about the only difference between the OEM and the Retail, so it's pretty bad that it doesn't work (the reason I gave 4 eggs).

In my case, I have plenty of working Nero CDs from previous purchases, (license code is the same on all of the recent ones), so no big deal.

nero 7 is indeed very bloated, and less useful than 6.6

Overall Review: I have bought at 10 or so LiteOn DVD burners over the last 3 years or so (for family & friend builds), they all still work well. There were a couple that were Very loud (still worked fine), a year or two ago, but this one seems really quiet.

Pros: Liteon Product - Supposed to be one of the better - Interchangable front panel - LightScribe

Cons: Burned 8 coasters in a row - tried 2 different burning programs with same result - looked for firmware update on Liteon's site (product not listed) - emailed Liteon (no update available) - could not find an update on Google. Nero software furnished with this drive is a joke, takes forever to load and was antiquated - updates are available if you have a couple of hours to download from their site.

Overall Review: I'm glad I bought this from Newegg - they get "5 eggs" for customer service. I'm going to try an LG model next - supposed to be the up and comer. Of course, I'll buy it from Newegg - best selection, best prices, prompt shipping, and best customer service I have ever found!
