Good buy

For the price, it's awesome. Reads pretty fast.

Kind of noisy, but only when a disc is being read. Not distracting, but louder than some drives.

Good buy!

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
SO FAR, NOT GOOD

I bought two of these a few days apart. The first unit arrived DOA. It snapped, crackled, popped, clanked and rattled, wouldn't recognize any media at all. Returned for replacement. The second one came. It installed easily and burned old 4X media at 8x. Data verification failed. I used both Ritek and Taeyo Yuden top quality blanks, alternating brands after each burn, tried burning at lower speeds, burned ten discs and ALL failed to verify. Maybe I'm nuts, but they're both going back for replacement.

They're cheap.

I had a LiteOn LDW-811S for about four years and burned thousands of DVDs with hardly ever having a problem. I like LiteOn generally so I'm giving them another shot.
