High quality manufacture from Logitech; slick design and color; tight feel on keypress.
This keyboard is still technically QWERTY, but little things have been moved around. The Delete Key is now as large as the enter key, the home/end keys have been shifted, and the scroll lock is completely gone. Not a big deal, but downsides nonetheless.
After working with this keyboard for about 4 months, I'm still getting use to the new layout. It also turns out I had an application that could use the scroll lock key. I never noticed until that key was gone. I didn't install the special keyboard application, so most of the special function toggles don't work.
I love the layout of this keyboard and the specific set of extra buttons it gives you. I use the calculator and music controls all the time. The overall feel of the keyboard is very smooth, and it doesn't make as much clattering noise when you type as many other keyboards.
The major problem with the keyboard is Logitech's idiotic "setpoint" software that enables all the functionality of the extra keys. Setpoint, by default, changes what your F- keys will do when depressed. In order to get them to go back to acting like normal F-keys, you have to push a button labeled "F-Mode." Where this seemed like a trivial issue at first, after months of using the keyboard, it's actually driving me nuts. Every time I start my computer, I have to remember to toggle on the stupid F-mode button so that my F-keys will do what I expect them to. It's rather like having a computer that default Num-lock to off. Compounding the problem, I use a KVM switch, so every time I switch to the other computer and then back, I have to hit the F-mode button again. I work as a web developer, so I'm constantly using the F-keys to refresh pages and do other software specific things that use F-key based shortcuts. This is really irksome.
If Logitech would simply include a preference in their Setpoint software to allow the user to decide whether the F-mode key would default to on or off, everything would be great. Until they do, I recommend no one buy any of their keyboards that come with setpoint. If you ever use your F-keys, you'll find these keyboards are nothing but a headache.
