amazing graphics 1080p 60fps its all good (assuming you have a Full hd tv)
good gameplay after all it is mariokart
custom karts/bikes
200cc!
no preset karts/bikes
they removed some charaters such as bowser jr (he was my favorite...)
its always to hard or to easy the AI is terrible but they spam you with powerups which make you lose coins and get stunned and fall from 1st place to 8th place
DLC is good but overpriced
its decent......i got it a few days after it came out so i got new super mario bros U for free...but that offer is now done and its a bit steep for what it is. A good game but should cost 40$

Playing Mario Kart with friends (locally).
It's the same game that's been released with each console, but with slightly better graphics and new drivers/tracks. The "zero gravity" feature that was supposed to turn this game upside down (no pun intended) is negligible, and hardly even noticeable when racing.
Grand Prix is hardly an enjoyable experience, considering the AI goes out of it's way to do everything it can to make you not win. A handful of characters are selected to be the guaranteed leaders each circuit (which makes perfect sense), but even while in second place they will get the best items to quickly close any gaps you manage to establish. Where's the fun in having a 20 minute cup thrown away by giving pre-destined winners items normally reserved for those at the back of the pack?
Battle mode is just bad now. Instead of dedicated battle tracks, you battle on circuit tracks. A good portion of a 5-minute game is spent driving in circles looking for someone to throw a shell at and hoping it hits it mark.
Finally, the variety of items in the game is completely underwhelming. Most of your races will be spent gathering single green shells, single bananas, coins, or the occasional red shell. For a game where the gameplay is completely based on the items, this is simultaneously confusing, disappointing, and frustrating to me.
All in all, it's still Mario Kart - which is good and bad. The year-to-year formula for this series is getting painfully bland. That said, it's still a blast to play with others - especially locally with friends or family.
If you plan on getting this for a single-player experience, save your money. Overall, the game is mediocre and saved merely by it's nostalgic effects.
