installed with no drivers on XP PRO SP2. Works beautifully with MediaPortal. controls other system functions as well. Extremely powerful remote: I can aim it in any direction and its picked up just fine.

I really only bought this for the IR receiver, and I'm currently controlling it with my Logitech Harmony remote. They work perfect together, no problems at all.

I've had this remote for about two months now. It worked great, then just stopped working entirely. Just a note.. Microsoft does NOT provide any warranty coverage for this remote. In fact, they claim they are not the manufacturer. After finding this out, I became very frustrated and assumed I would have to buy a new remote. But then I found a usenet article where someone had run into the same problem with this remote, and had managed to fix it by removing the batteries and using a paperclip to short out the battery terminals for a few seconds. I tried this, and it actually caused the remote to start working again. Something to try if you buy this remote and it stops working.
