Love win 7 but dont get full version, get upgrade version

I love windows 7 and home premium is all you need

none

Dont get full version, get upgrade version because if you have any other windows version laying around, you can use the upgrade version as a clean installed new version

steps:
-install old windows (ex. Windows XP)
-restart computer and boot off of windows 7 disk
-some time before the installation starts for 7, it will ask you what partition you want to install to
-here you can reformat and delete the XP partition and 7 will install to the completely blank partition

So basically you install to a blank hard drive. It doesn't get any cleaner than that!

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Because I don't do Linux

Upgraded from XP. Didn't have any problems upgrading aside from having to basically install over XP.

Had issues with playing some older games, even when trying to use 7's "XP compatability mode". This makes me sad, but I'll have the memories I guess. I've found W7 to be a pretty upgrade, however, quite frustrating. For making the OS supposedly easier, I have to go through more steps to get it to do what I want compared to previous versions of windows, such as setting up firewall exceptions, and setting up my home network.

I was able to find drivers for all my external devices and haven't had many problems with new software. It does take some careful reading though when buying new components or getting software to make sure that it is compatible with W7.
If you ever need to put a fresh install of Win 7 on your same machine, you need to re-install your previous OS then run the Windows 7 upgrade. Win 7 upgrade doesn't play nice when you ask it to re-upgrade itself.
