Nice Vista

It booted up with no problems. I like the gadgets. Lots of options and user friendly. Also, directx 10.1!

None so far. Only thing was the certificate sticker wouldn't fully stick on my computer because it was missing some glue on the back.

For ten bucks more, I should have bought the Premium because it has a few options I would have liked to have and now an upgrade will cost me more. I should have done more research.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW

Very stylish. Quick installation.

CD did not install BOOTMGR correctly so it has to be redone. Updates will not work.

Features
FeatureWindows Vista Home Basic is the operating system for homes with basic computing needs. It is easy to set up, it helps you use your PC more securely and reliably, and like all of the editions of Windows Vista, it is compatible with the widest range of software, devices, and services that you use and trust. If you simply want to use your PC for tasks such as surfing the Internet, corresponding with friends and family using e-mail, or performing basic document creation and editing tasks, then Windows Vista Home Basic will deliver a safer, more reliable, and more productive computing environment. In addition to all previously released updates, SP1 contains changes focused on addressing specific reliability and performance issues, supporting new types of hardware, and adding support for several emerging standards. SP1 also continues to make it easier for IT administrators to deploy and manage Windows Vista. Service Packs are not intended to be a vehicle for releasing significant new features or functionality; however some existing components do gain slightly enhanced functionality in SP1 to support industry standards and new requirements.
