2GB per stick, good heat sink, low profile, good timing, can run at 4-4-4-12.
1 pair was DOA, requires 2.1V min to run at 5-4-4-15 so not all motherboard can support it. Be sure to use in motherboard which allows to configure voltage.
1st I have Ord Duo CPU cooler which makes impossible to use high-profile memory because it cover memory slots with one of the fans. So this memory works best in my configuration. Second I had to bump voltage up to 2.4V to make 4x2GB configuration run smoothly on ASUS P5N-E motherboard. This can be a MB problem or memory controller problem or BIOS issue. Anyway, 2x2GB @ 2.1V run fine. Adding another 2x2GB causes all king of crashes. After a few evenings I figured out that 4x2GB config causes voltage to drop from 2.1V to 1.8V approx which is too low for those RAM sticks. After gradually increasing voltage I came up with 2.4V. RAM is stable now, no overheating. I assume 4 stick draw to much power which causes memory voltage to drop. But it's not RAM problem, it's MB problem.
Good value for the money for boards that are not picky with RAM.
First kit arrived with one stick that was out and outright defective; exchanged for another one (meanwhile the original rebate promotion expired, though a new one was issued for the same amount,) and kinda sorta got it to work. System works for a while then becomes unstable; verified by booting from Vista DVD; boots fine if done when first powered on, bluescreens if tried again after more than a few minutes. Leaving automatic timings of 6-6-6-18 alone does not solve the issue. This RAM does not perform to spec (which is 800 MHz, 5-4-4-15,) at least not on my system.
RAM used on a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 motherboard running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black Edition processor. I had this same issue with Patriot Extreme Performance memory; Gigabyte tells me that only modules running at 1.8V will work fine; this RAM runs at 2.1V, and the option to increase the voltage is in the BIOS for the GA-M57SLI-S4. I also have an Intel DG965WH board running a 3.2 GHz Pentium D; I didn't test the OCZ RAM in it, but the Patriot memory worked fine, even with the tight timings and the lack of an option to increase the voltage. This stuff may work fine in some systems, but not on a Gigabyte board. Since the memory controller is part of the Athlon 64 processor, this may also come in to play, but getting a straight answer from an authoritative source has proven to be an act of Congress. I've given up on these OCZ modules and ordered some Mushkin modules - maybe they'll work.
