Best Overall Case for the $$$

1) Great cooling with front, side, and rear mounts for 80-120mm fans. (Rear 120mm fan is included.) 2) Solid construction. 3) Very few sharp edges. 4) Air filter for front and side CPU blow-hole fan locations. 5) Tool-less, easy-to-remove case front. 6) Nice black finish. 7) Quick-release side panel retainers.

1) Tool-less internal drive retainers don't match standard drive screw holes. (No big deal to mount drives with screws though.) 2) Lacks extra PCI slot covers. (Most builders remove the original "tear-out" slot covers before installing the mobo to avoid damaging it.) 3) Lacked a few ATX mobo standoff holes to match my Gig*byte GA-965P-DS3. (No big deal - just be sure to support edge of mobo when plugging in ATX power plug.) 4) No front 1394 jack. 5) Only 7 mobo standoff pylons supplied. (Some boards need 8 or 9.) 6) Hard to see the HDD activity lamp sitting at a desk when the case is on the floor to your side. Would be nice if it was blue like the overly-bright power switch/light one is... 7) The side panel air grille is too low for cooling the NB heat sink of my DS3 mobo; will have to find another way.

Overall this is a good looking, cool-running, solidly built case. (An absolute STEAL when on sale for $xx with free shipping!)

For people having problems with the side release slides, just loosen the tension screw a bit to open the first time (to see how/which direction it works), and then tighten it to suit your preferences once you get the "hang" of it. Once adjusted correctly, you'll wish that ALL CASES used this type of latch.

One note about fan types: I never used the supplied 120mm fan but instead bought some Masscool ball-bearing fans. (120mm rear and 80mm front, so far.) At stock speeds the fans were too loud (especially the front fan). But after wiring both fans to run at 5 volts there is still good air movement over the HDD cage and out the case back -- but you can hardly hear the fans now.
