This device is so easy to use. it beats the beans out of having to open my entire case to install a new drive. With my geek-for-hire business, i get alot of clients needing data off of old hard drives. Banking info, personal files, photos, whatever. More often than not, they're from dead PCs, so i had to move the drive to access the requested data. Before i had this thing, i had to open the PC case, check the drives, unplug the ribbons, install the drive, plug everything back in, fire up the computer, realize the jumpers are wrong, unplug the drive, change the jumper, install the drive, get a blank screen again, remove the drive, try another jumper setting...
...so you see my dilemma? Now i don't have to worry about that anymore. And because it's USB and so small, i can take it with me TO THE JOB! i don't have to bring hardware back to the office anymore! i can just use the client's own PC for the operation! i just plug 'er in and start copying!
i don't have to mess around with ribbon and jumpers anymore, so what took me 2 hours before only takes me 20 seconds now. it's convenient, but fewer hours on the job means fewer dollars in my pocket. BUT, i'm not complaining. Swapping drives was the task i hated the most.
This particular model doesn't support floppy as the illustration suggests on the box. Make EXTRA sure that the product you're buying does EVERYTHiNG you want it to do...not the first thing that comes to mind. i'll read much closer next time.
