Very nice board with great looks and loads of features

Awesome look with white accents.
3.1usb and 3.0 headers.
Good numbers of well placed connectors (my first build with a basic setup, Phanteks Luxe case, 1ssd, 1hd, 1 optical, 1 corsair 280mm watercooler, 1 nvidia graphics card)
Overclocked my 6700k to 4.8gig with no problems.

Doesn't have cmos reset button, have to use jumpers. Thank goodness I had one on hand... easy enough to figure when you read instructions.
The MSI intel tweaking utility didn't work as well as setting the overclocking in the BIOS.
Bios was not noob friendly, but I'll say it was easier to navigate than I expected.

Out of the box with simply overclocking my 6700k this was an awesome board. It looks fantastic. I got it for a great price on Newegg, the service and delivery was excellent. Couldn't have expected more. I think MSI fixed many of the complaints of its first run of Krait z170 boards in this one. Definitely consider this board if you are new, only plan on overclocking a little and want something with white accents to look great in your system without breaking the bank.

TOP CRITICAL REVIEW
Great motherboard once working, but can be headache inducing if you want to use a Kaby Lake CPU.

- Clean and nice looking board.
- Plenty of ports and slots.
- Easy to install and use.

- The board is slightly narrower than a standard ATX board, so the entire right side of the board is not secured by screws. This
makes the right side unstable and could potentially damage the board is too much pressure was put on that side. It wasn't
that much of an issue for me, but just aware of that.
- This might just be specific to the case I was using or how I installed it, but there was a slight gap between the back IO panel
cover and the panel itself. It isn't much, maybe a few millimeters, but it is enough to make it look a little off. I don't think it will
affect the functionality much, but it just bugged me slightly.
- If you are planning on using a Kaby Lake CPU with this motherboard, then you could run into some issues if you happen to get
a board with an outdated bios version like I did. The first bios version to support Kaby Lake CPUs was released back in
October 2016. I ordered this motherboard about a week before writing this review, so January 2017. I had assumed that the
bios version on the board I ordered would at least be new enough to support Kaby Lake CPUs, but I was mistaken. When I
assembled my PC, nothing showed up on my monitor, and the on-board debug lights did not show any errors, so it took a
considerable amount of debugging to figure out what was wrong. With an out of date bios version, I had several options:
return/replace the motherboard or CPU, bring my PC to a computer repair store to have them update the bios, or use a
temporary Skylake CPU to update the bios. I chose the latter option, but without owning an extra Skylake CPU, I had to order a
$60 Intel G4400 CPU to do that. All in all, it was a lot of work, so be prepared if you plan on using a Kaby Lake CPU.

If the motherboard had come with an up to date bios version, I probably would give this 4 to 4.5 out of 5. This likely won't be an issue for many people, especially as time goes on, but it is a serious consideration for anyone who plans to use a Kaby Lake CPU. However, this hasn't caused me to lose faith in MSI or anything. I never contacted MSI about the issue, but I'm sure they would have helped me get a board with an updated bios version. However, it is an issue that I think they should look into.
